The Story.
Masks by Rinelle is a pivot project turned passion project that I started at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. Masks were high in demand, but no where to be found, so I learned how to to make my own. At the time, stores were constantly sold out of cotton and elastic (or places were reselling them at ridiculous premiums), so I made my first set of masks out of my husband’s old cotton dress shirts and used DIY t-shirt yarn for the ear bands. I sent them off to my friends and family and things quickly escalated from there!
Here we are today, and I’ve sewn hundreds of reusable masks for faces across the country! I’ve also met dozens of amazing people in the process, which is a huge blessing during this time of social isolation. I’m so grateful for all of you!
To maintain my quality of sewing, I’m currently only accepting mask orders from my personal & extended network, as well as their referrals. So if we haven’t met, but we follow each other on Insta or you happen to know someone (who knows someone) who knows me or has ordered my masks … don’t be shy! Just say so in your order form and we’ll go from there! Let’s not lose that human connection, yeah? :)

The Details.
Slow-made by hand in San Diego, California.
Non-medical grade, washable, and reusable.
Made w/ three layers of premium cotton fabrics — the outer shell, inner lining, and filter pocket (filter not included). Non-woven polypropylene center layer available upon request as of March 2021 (for Fitted and Bandit styles only).
Fully adjustable ear bands w/ cord locks.
Built-in aluminum nose wire (for safety purposes, kids’ masks are made without nose wires).

Three Styles.
Houndstooth Print, Fitted Style
The Fitted.
This is your traditional face covering, both in appearance and functionality. I specifically designed my Fitted mask to sit comfortably at the nose bridge, taper at the sides to closely hug the cheeks, and hook under the chin. The generous curvature provides full coverage while still remaining lightweight and convenient to don and doff when you’re out and about.
If you plan on speaking a ton while wearing your Fitted mask, size up! I like to wear a size Medium.
Houndstooth Print, Shield Style
The Shield.
The Shield is structured to sit away from the nostrils, which is ideal if you have a lower nose bridge and tend to inhale your masks (like me, lol). The expandable nose and chin panels are key to fit a variety of face shapes and sizes. The Shield is comfortable for longer wear, and stays put no matter how much you blabber on and on … and on. :)

Houndstooth Print, Bandit Style
The Bandit.
The Bandit cuts straight across at the top and tapers at a steep angle along the jawline. Because it comes to less of a point at the nose, it’s perfect for those of us who enjoy the convenience of The Fitted style but don’t have the nose bridge to keep it up the entire day. 😆
The Sizing.
Since our faces are uniquely shaped and one size never seems to “fit all”, all of my mask styles are now available in five (5) sizes:
Kids Small (Age 3-5)
Kids Large (Age 6-12)
Adult Small (Petite Faces)
Adult Medium (Most Adults)
Adult Large (Extra Coverage)
